Three years in the making, this special vertical tasting bundle of our original barleywine, Forgotten Brilliance, is ready for the holiday season! 

Forgotten Brilliance is a tribute to the big, hoppy American barleywines and vintage English ales of yore. This meticulously crafted beer now has three iterations, starting with the cellared batches from 2021 and 2022 plus this year's third and final batch. 

BATCH 1 - 2021 (500ml, 12.3% ABV)

The original! Featuring Centennial, Amarillo, and Cascade Cryo hops over a hearty canvas of Maris Otter and English crystal malts, this deep mahogany brew went through an extended three-hour boil to create a sturdy backbone that holds nearly 100 IBUs of hops. Flavors of toffee, grapefruit, and marble rye bread intermingle with floral and resinous notes.

BATCH 2 - 2022 (500ml, 12.3% ABV)

While Batch 1 leaned more toward the English style due to its fuller, richer body, Batch 2 is leaner and drier, and the hops shined a bit more as they do in an American-style barleywine. Complex and bold, aromas of toffee and allspice pleasantly greet the nose. Flavors of caramel chew and almond cream intermingle with pine and grapefruit notes along with a sturdy bitterness.

BATCH 3 - 2023 (500ml, 12.3% ABV)

Our third and final batch falls perfectly between the two cellared versions with its approachable medium-full body, complex malt flavors, and a nice floral-orange marmalade hop flavor. Drink it fresh and relish its hoppy, bitter characteristics, or enjoy it later, as it will age gracefully for years to come.
