Bug Farm is back for 2024! Working with seasonal fruit is one of our favorite things to do, and fermenting summer watermelon in beer is delicious.

Bug Farm is farmhouse ale made with rosemary, lavender, and spearmint and refermented with watermelon.

We processed about a ton of watermelon by hand over the course of two days at Jester King. We diced the watermelon, pureed it, then added it straight to the tank for re-fermentation. The rosemary, lavender, and spearmint were all added cold side as well.

Bug Farm has roots at Jester King going back over a decade. It continues to be one of the favorite beers we make.
